Handlebar Assembly

Important Directions:
To remove old stem, loosen hex bolt to the point where it rises one quarter-inch out of stem and tap bolt down to loosen stem.

Insert stem into head tube to hide line on stem (handlebar clamp to front).

Position handlebar in stem and tighten nut securely. Align stem with wheel and tighten hex head bolt securely.

Caution:
Overtightening of hex head bolt may damage steering assembly and cause loss of control.

Test stem assembly as follows:

1. Hold front wheel between legs and try to turn handlebar – stem must not move in head tube.

2. Straddle frame of bicycle and try to move handlebar up and down – handlebar must not move in stem.
